Yum!

I am challenging myself to post everyday the month of February.  That doesn't mean I have to be prolific with my writing or all that thought provoking.  Sometimes, less is more.  So, all I have to say is I'm pregnant and I like peanut butter oreos.

Snow... Sort Of!

Wacky Weather!  That is all I have to say!  Saturday we are outside playing with light coats on.  Monday, we have snow.  Sort of.  It's the kind of snow a southern girl can get behind.  It was here and gone quickly.  It was pretty falling from the sky, but didn't stick around.  I got to enjoy the peaceful silence that comes with snowfall, but didn't have to endure the claustrophobic feeling of being stuck.  All around pretty good if you ask me! And I got to take some pretty pictures of the snow.

The Nose Knows

It is no secret that the Beagle and I have our moments.  Moments of great love.  And moments of me screaming "That's it!  I'm sending you to the pound!  Get ready for a new home".  I promise, we love him.  He is just into everything and constantly looking for trouble.  Seriously.  When I walk out the back door in the afternoons, he immediately runs to the kitchen counter to look and see what he can get into.  I have seen him do it!  He has a nose that will not let up.  If he smells something, he has to find it.  That makes his life purposeful and interesting.  Especially when living with a 3 year old who drops food in random places. Like, between the couch cushions, under the play kitchen, and under the stove!  We managed to capture one such moment of his tenacity!  Please remember he is 40 pounds of nose sniffing power!  We never figured out what he was looking for, but he finally found whatever scrap of food and came out from the depths of the couch!

Just A Swingin'

We have been enjoying an unseasonably warm winter here in VA.  I saw on the news today that it has something to do with where the jet stream is flowing across the continent.  I could care less why it's warm, but my south GA blood is happy to see it.  In some ways it is going to make the upcoming move to Pittsburgh even more difficult to adjust to.  But, for now we are enjoying it!  We spent a recent Saturday at the park with half the city!  Snapped this fantastic shadow of my kiddo.

Capturing the Calm

In one of my previous lifetimes  I was a Child Life Specialist.  I worked in a hospital with children.  It was my job to prepare kids of all kinds of medical procedures, and to provide distractions during medical procedures.  I loved my job, and it broke my heart to leave it when My Favoritest and I moved and got married.  One of my favorite tools in my bag of toys was a magic wand.  I am sure you have seen them.  Acrylic tube filled with glitter and sequins floating in water.  They have magical calming powers.... for most kids.  In our house the wand is anything but calming and quiet.  It is a marching band baton, a drum stick for Rock and Roll Elmo, a ball whacker, and anything else you can imagine.  I took a minute to try and remember to calming magic at the end of a hectic and crazy day:)

Big Girl Braids!

So my very first blog on Curly and the Gang was titled Perception.  It was all about the little things that make me realize that Doodle is growing up.  At the end of it, I state that pony tales are on the list of things banned because they make her look to grown up.  Lucky for me, she hates a big pony.  We are however expanding our repertoire of hair styles.  We recently attempted piggie braids.  They were a big success and a big heart breaker for this mommy.  My baby is still small but getting so big!

The Future's So Bright

She's gotta wear shades!  After all, the sunshines very bright in her favorite windowsill!  The funny thing is, the kid hates to wear sunglasses in the actual outdoor sunshine!  Silly Girl!

I know I have complained about our dogs and specifically about The Beagle.  He is B-A-D, but we really do love him!  A few weeks before Chrismukah, Doodle and I went to the pet store to get dog food.  She spotted dog toys and next thing you know, we have holiday gifts for both dogs.  Much like my child loves her toys, so does The Beagle.  Nothing is better to him than a new toy.  They don't last too long because he loves them so much!  The toy in this picture lasted a couple of days before he ripped the poor girraffe's head off!

Doodle is too young to make resolutions, but if she did, one of them should be "learn to catch a ball".  My kid is good at many things.  Sport.... not so much!  She has great verbal skills, reasoning skills, and a fantastic sense of humor.  But she can't catch a ball so great!  She loves the idea of playing catch.  She asks to play all the time.  It usually involves the ball bouncing into her chin and then rolling back to the other player.  She got a gertie ball for Hanukkah and the soft, squeezable ball is making her catching skills improve.  I set up the camera next to me while we played.  It was kind of fun to see what I "caught".

On a totally separate note, I love checking the stats for the blog.  I have noticed a constant readership from Russia.  If you read this would love to know more about you and how you found me:)  Leave a comment!
